Indigenous Elders Visit

10/08/2016

Local indigenous elders Bennett and Janice Walker visited our Year 2/3 class on Friday 5th August.

As part of our Geography unit, students have been looking at places of personal, historical and cultural significance in the local area. Bennett and Janice shared their traditional stories of why places such as Thorton's Peak, Wonga Beach, Snapper Island and Mt Demi are culturally significant to the Kuku Yalanji people.

Thank you for your informative visit!
